Ron, How refreshing to read something that is so on point with reality! The corporate/wealthy rulers keep their power by placing wedges between major factions of the masses -- conservatives v. progressives. By de-funding education, those in control ensure an uneducated mass of people who can be indoctrinated into fighting resource wars and into creating a warrior-worshiping culture. I grew up in a progressive Colorado and returned "home" to retire. What a mistake!! While I was gone, Focus on the Family germinated and blossomed, "Home Town Heroes" (community groups that idolize soldiers) sprouted and took root in virtually all smaller communities as a major social organization, etc.

There is no point in fighting anything or in blaming the mass of conservative voters who are controlled by 10-sec. sound bytes. Creating a new sustainable world through conscious living is the only way a new world will be created. Websites like habitatreimagined help people worldwide in this effort. Thank you!!

Desperate to get out of LA, CA, I took a position in Salisbury, NC for a year. I have a good friend in Durham (also from LA) who delights in showing me the evermore cultural a hub Durham has become. The people, the flowering trees, the immense grassy areas around homes, the sense of history all appealed strongly to me.

As I explored more of the state, artisan villages, cemeteries, churches, the trees, the unique and quaint, one name in hushed reverberation heard I , Asheville. In the mountains, old brick throughout, educated residents and businesses meeting their interests, and, truthfully, less humidity!

Being now of a certain age and certain opportunities and interests, a life-long proclivity toward evolving relevance from sagging social irrelevance, a profound sense of joy in the company of women and a timely readiness to do so, the approaches to community being sought here are of immense interest to me.

Please contact me.
